BANDUNG – Dozens of managers of the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) under the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) have lodged complaints with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) over their uncertain status on Tuesday (26 May 2026). They have spent hundreds of millions of rupiah to construct kitchens but remain unable to operate.

It is understood that the MBG kitchen managers are part of a foundation abbreviated as YSBB and several others. They are seeking clarification from the BGN on whether their foundation has been verified.

Oesep Sarwat, coordinator of the MBG kitchen managers, said he and his colleagues have spent significant amounts on rental costs, building renovations, and coordination funds for the MBG kitchens. However, they have yet to receive confirmation on when operations will commence, despite inquiries made to the foundation.

“We have spent considerable sums on rental costs, building renovations, and coordination funds,” he said recently in Bandung.

He stated that they have been waiting for a year for clarity, with the foundation suspected of delaying the issuance of work orders.

“Kitchen managers and investors are now under mental strain as dozens of recruited volunteers continuously question the lack of operational certainty,” he added.

He urged the BGN to make concessions so that the kitchens, built at considerable cost, could be utilised. “We have come here to appeal for BGN policies that allow the constructed kitchens to be put to use,” he said.
