The Bandung City Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) will summon the owner of a padel business regarding the alleged felling of trees on Jalan LL.RE Martadinata, also known as Jalan Riau, in Bandung City. The move comes as the padel court is located very close to the site where the trees were cut down.

Head of the Bandung City Satpol PP, Bambang Sukardi, said his team has sealed off the location of the felled trees on Jalan Riau. His office will subsequently summon the padel court owner to ascertain the facts of the incident.

“We have carried out the sealing and we will follow up on it. However, because the Mayor has now personally inspected the site, we will summon the padel court owner, as up to 10 trees were involved,” he said on Saturday (1/8/2026).

He stated that the alleged tree felling is suspected to be connected to the padel court’s presence. His office will conduct an investigation and request statements.

“We do not yet know whether there is any involvement of individuals; I do not know that yet. But this is now being handled by Satpol PP, the site has been sealed, and it will be followed up with further investigation,” he said. He noted that the alleged tree felling could be prosecuted under the environmental protection law.
