Bandung Residents Terrorised for Over a Month by Machete-Wielding Youth Gangs

A group of youths armed with sharp weapons reportedly attacked residents on Jalan Raya Cigondewah Kaler, Bandung, West Java, in the early hours of Saturday (18/7/2026). The incident was captured on video and shared on social media, showing the gang entering the residential area and firing firecrackers.

Local resident Andres Pratama stated that the attack by the armed group occurred suddenly. He said the gang of youths challenged residents who were gathered in the area. According to Andres, dozens of motorcycles were involved in the confrontation. Residents attempted to disperse the group due to the disturbance to public safety and order.

“There were many of them, and from what I saw, they were carrying samurai swords, all sorts of things, wood, iron bars, and they were also throwing used drink bottles at us,” he said.
