Bandung Residents Find It Easier to Reach Bali with KA Sangkuriang Train

Starting from early May 2026, specifically on Friday (1/5/2026), residents of Bandung can take the train to Bali using the KA Sangkuriang service.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI Persero) is offering a direct route from Bandung, West Java, to Ketapang in Banyuwangi, East Java.

Here is a guide to taking the train from Bandung to Bali that you can follow.

First, you can use the KA Sangkuriang service on the Bandung-Ketapang route.

The KA Sangkuriang Bandung-Ketapang route (7044A) is scheduled to depart on Friday (1/5/2026) from Bandung Station at 14:45 WIB, and is scheduled to arrive at Ketapang Station the next day at 06:52 WIB.

Conversely, the KA Sangkuriang Ketapang-Bandung route (7043A) is scheduled to make its inaugural departure on Saturday (2/5/2026) at 15:00 WIB, and is scheduled to arrive at Bandung Station the next day at 08:30 WIB.

Ticket prices for KA Sangkuriang Bandung-Ketapang start at Rp 500,000 for Economy Class, Rp 750,000 for Executive Class, and Rp 2.5 million for Suite Class Compartment.

Ferry schedules from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port depart every hour from 00:00 WIB to 23:00 WIB.

Ferry ticket prices start at Rp 10,600 for children, adults, and senior citizens. For babies aged zero to two years, the ticket fee starts at Rp 1,600.

Ferry crossing tickets from Ketapang to Gilimanuk can be purchased directly via the Ferizy website or app.

Thus, the total journey from Bandung to Bali using the train and ferry takes around 16 hours.
