Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - PT KAI Regional Operations (Daop) 2 Bandung has assured that regular train (KA) operations in its area continue to run normally without disruption, despite route diversion engineering for several Java-crossing trains due to a train derailment at Bumiayu Station, Central Java.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, emphasised that journeys departing from and passing through Daop 2, such as Argo Wilis, Turangga, Lodaya, Malabar, Harina, Parahyangan, up to local trains Bandung Raya and Garut, are not impacted by delays or cancellations.

“Alhamdulillah, up to now there has been no impact,” said Kuswardojo in Bandung, West Java, on Monday.

This route engineering through Daop 2 territory was taken by KAI following a disruption to the Bangunkarta train (161) journey due to a derailment at Bumiayu Station in Daop 5 Purwokerto at 14:15 WIB.

As a strategic solution to guarantee safety and reduce delay figures, KAI is diverting the routes of five long-distance train journeys to loop via the Kroya-Bandung-Cikampek line.

The list of trains undergoing route diversion looping through Daop 2 Bandung territory includes KA Argo Semeru (5) on the Surabaya Gubeng-Gambir route, KA Gaya Baru Malam Selatan (89) on the Surabaya Gubeng-Pasarsenen route, KA Progo (257) on the Lempuyangan-Pasarsenen route, KA Senja Utama Yogyakarta (107) on the Yogyakarta-Pasarsenen route, and KA Senja Utama Yogyakarta (108) on the Pasarsenen-Lempuyangan route.

Kuswardojo explained that this route diversion is the company’s top priority in placing safety aspects above all journey operations.

His side has also prepared all aspects of infrastructure, facilities, and field personnel to support the smooth flow of the diverted trains.

“We are striving for all trains passing through Daop 2 Bandung territory to continue running smoothly and safely. Intensive coordination is ongoing to anticipate potential longer delays,” he stated.

While assuring that regular routes are safe, KAI Daop 2 Bandung still extends apologies for this operational adjustment and urges customers to continue monitoring the latest information through official channels for journey comfort.
