Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna directly visited the flood location in Sukamanah Village, Rancaekek District, to monitor the conditions of affected residents while ensuring the readiness of public kitchens and emergency response teams on the ground. Dadang inspected the public kitchen and monitored the flood conditions in Sukamanah Village, Yasaadi Road, Rancaekek District, on Wednesday (15/4/2026). At the site, the regent, familiarly known as Kang Dadang Supriatna (KDS), ensured that services for residents were running optimally. Additionally, health teams remained on standby to serve the affected community. This step reaffirms the local government’s commitment to a swift response in handling the impacts of ongoing extreme weather, while ensuring that residents’ basic needs are met. KDS emphasised that extreme weather conditions are still likely to continue until the end of April. He referred to predictions from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) indicating high rainfall intensity. “I have already reminded civil servants during the morning briefing in April that the extreme conditions have not ended. BMKG also predicts this situation will last until the end of April,” said KDS. Therefore, he urged Bandung Regency residents to increase vigilance, especially during heavy rainfall. In the past week, floods have inundated 13 districts. Tornadoes have also struck several areas. Furthermore, KDS revealed that field surveys showed significant damage. “We have recorded around 65 houses damaged by tornadoes, which need to be repaired immediately,” he stated. Next, the Bandung Regency Government held a meeting with seven districts to form a pentahelix team. This team integrates the roles of government, community, business, academics, and media to make disaster handling more effective. On the other hand, Dadang stated that the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) will inspect several vulnerable points. Locations such as Panyadap and Bojong are priorities because they frequently experience river embankment breaches. “We continue to coordinate with BNPB and the West Java Provincial Government to ensure handling is maximal and on target,” he added. The Head of Sukamanah Village, Dede Rahim, appreciated the support from various parties. He assessed that assistance from volunteers and the government has greatly helped residents in facing the emergency situation. “We thank the Bandung Regent for visiting the flood site, as well as the volunteers, regency government, and province that have provided aid. We are also continuing to prepare public kitchens for residents,” said Dede.
