The Bandung Regency Government in West Java has confirmed the readiness of Si Jalak Harupat Stadium as one of the host venues for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026, scheduled from 21 September to 6 October.

Head of the Bandung Regency Youth and Sports Office (Dispora), Dicky Anugrah, said preparations have begun with stadium facilities that meet FIFA standards.

According to Dicky, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium previously hosted the U-17 World Cup, giving the regional government a foundation for preparing facilities for the FIFA ASEAN Cup.

“Of course, the readiness will not differ much from the FIFA standards that we must accommodate in the ASEAN Cup as well,” he said.

FIFA is scheduled to conduct a reassessment of Si Jalak Harupat Stadium to review supporting facilities and the completeness of hosting standards.

However, the Bandung Regency Government will re-evaluate a number of facilities, such as spectator seating, player benches, cleanliness, sanitation, billboards, and other supporting infrastructure to ensure there are no shortcomings ahead of the tournament.

For minor repairs, Dicky said the Bandung Regency Government is ready to handle them.

If the FIFA assessment indicates the need for large-scale improvements, he hopes for support from the central organising committee, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and FIFA.

The group draw and matches to be held at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium and Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium are still under discussion by FIFA.

The Bandung Regency Government hopes that hosting the FIFA ASEAN Cup will also have a positive impact on the local economy through the tourism, hotel, restaurant, and MICE sectors.
