Bandung regency administration urges travellers to avoid Cijapati route during Eid exodus
The Head of Bandung Regency’s Transportation Department, Hilman Kadar, stated in Bandung on Thursday that joint inspections with police authorities revealed the Cijapati route is not recommended as an alternative pathway for travellers during the Eid exodus.
“The joint inspection with police shows that Cijapati is not recommended as an alternative route, but since people continue to use it, we are making maximum efforts through public awareness and field supervision,” he said.
According to him, although not recommended, the route continues to be frequently used by residents travelling to the southern areas of Bandung regency.
Consequently, the department is implementing a number of precautionary measures to enhance road user safety. Hilman noted that street lighting installations are being carried out through cooperation with the West Java provincial government.
In addition, the Bandung Regency Transportation Department will strengthen supervision along the route to minimise the potential for accidents during the exodus period.
For overall security of the exodus, the Bandung Regency Transportation Department has prepared 259 personnel who will serve during the 2026 Eid Transport Security Operation from 14 to 29 March.
These officers will be stationed at various security posts and strategic points to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Eid exodus and return journey.
