Bandung Regency Accelerates Completion of 230 KDKMP Outlets
The Bandung Regency Government in West Java is accelerating the completion of 230 Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDKMP) outlets that remain unfinished out of a total of 280 villages and sub-districts in the region.
Speaking in Bandung on Friday, the Regent of Bandung, Dadang Supriatna, stated that currently only about 50 villages have completed their outlet construction, making acceleration necessary so that the cooperatives can begin operations immediately.
“The Merah Putih Village Cooperative is one of the Asta Cita programmes aimed at reviving the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and currently, about 50 outlets have been completed,” he said.
He requested that village governments immediately coordinate to speed up the construction of these outlets, while also leveraging potential support from various parties to ensure the completion of cooperative facilities meets necessary requirements.
“In Nagrak Village, the cooperative is already self-sufficient; only the physical outlet remains to be finished,” he added.
Dadang noted that the existence of these outlets is a vital component in supporting cooperative operations, ensuring that the Merah and White Village Cooperative does not stop at institutional formation but can actively drive community economic activities.
According to him, the acceleration of outlet construction must be carried out through coordination between the regional government and village governments, including identifying needs and the support required to finalise construction.
He stated that the Merah Putih Village Cooperative is expected to serve as a hub for community economic activities while strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation in managing economic potential at the village level.
“Essentially, the government must be present through policies and programmes that address the needs of the community,” he remarked.
The Bandung Regency Government hopes that the completion of the 230 outlets can be accelerated gradually so that all Merah Putih Village Cooperatives in Bandung Regency possess adequate operational facilities and can provide economic benefits to the community.
