Bandung City (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Police are preparing 700 personnel to secure the Cultural Parade of the Milangkala Tatar Sunda, which will be held in Bandung on Saturday (16/5) evening.
The Head of Operations at the Bandung City Police, AKBP Asep Saepudin, said that hundreds of personnel were deployed to escort the event, which is expected to be attended by thousands of participants.
“We have prepared around 700 personnel for security along the route and especially at intersections that require personnel presence,” said Asep in Bandung, Friday.
Asep explained that the cultural parade will start from Kiara Artha Park, passing through Jalan Jakarta, under the Supratman Flyover, Jalan Supratman, Jalan Diponegoro, and ending in front of Gedung Sate.
“The event will be held from Kiara Artha Park tomorrow night, starting at 7:00 PM and finishing at Gedung Sate,” said Asep.
He said the length of the parade is estimated to be two kilometers, with a distance of about 3.7 kilometers from the starting point to the end of the event.
The police appealed to the public to avoid Jalan Jakarta, Ahmad Yani, Supratman, and Diponegoro during the event to anticipate traffic congestion due to the presence of approximately 5,000 to 6,000 participants.
“Yes, of course, for the public, it’s Saturday night, so it’s best to avoid the routes on Jalan Jakarta, then Ahmad Yani, Supratman, Diponegoro,” he said.
