Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan Still Undergoing Medical Treatment
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan is still undergoing examination and medical treatment at hospital. Head of the Bandung City Communication and Informatics Agency, Henryco Arie Sapiie, explained that Farhan’s condition remains under the care of a team of doctors.
“At present he is still under the care of the medical team. We are awaiting the ongoing medical process and will convey further information once there are developments,” he said in Bandung on Friday (10/7).
According to Henryco, the Bandung city government has ensured that the situation does not disrupt the running of the administration or public services. All public services continue to operate normally in accordance with applicable procedures.
“The Bandung city government also invites all residents to pray together for the recovery of Mayor Muhammad Farhan, so that he recovers quickly and can return to his duties serving the people,” he said.
Henryco said the city government urged the public not to speculate about the mayor’s condition, and to rely only on official information issued through the administration’s official communication channels. The city government will announce further developments to the public once it receives official information from the medical team.
As previously reported, Farhan was rushed to hospital on Friday (10/7) afternoon after suffering a health episode at his office at Bandung City Hall. The incident occurred when Farhan was scheduled to attend an engagement at the Bandung City Council building. At around 15:30 Western Indonesia Time, the City Hall lobby was busy with preparations for the Asia Africa Festival (AAF) 2026 Gala Dinner, due to be held at the City Hall Plaza. Amid the activity, a Bandung Kiwari regional hospital ambulance entered the City Hall lobby area. Shortly afterwards, a number of health workers were seen rushing towards the mayor’s office. Some 30 minutes later, Farhan was evacuated from the mayor’s central room on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance.
Farhan was seen lying down with his eyes closed and looking pale. During the evacuation, he was wearing a white t-shirt, with an intravenous drip attached to his arm and oxygen support during the transfer to the ambulance, before being taken to hospital for medical treatment.
