Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan was rushed to hospital on Friday (10/7) afternoon after experiencing a sudden health issue in his office at Bandung City Hall. The incident occurred while Farhan was scheduled to attend an important agenda at the Bandung City Council building.

Based on observations at the location around 3.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time, the atmosphere at City Hall, which had been busy preparing for the 2026 Asia Africa Festival (AAF) Gala Dinner, suddenly became tense. An ambulance from Bandung Kiwari Regional Hospital was seen entering the lobby area and medical personnel hurried towards the mayor’s office.

Approximately 30 minutes later, Muhammad Farhan was evacuated on a stretcher. Farhan appeared to be lying down with his eyes closed and a pale complexion, and was already fitted with an IV drip and oxygen support as he was transferred into the ambulance for emergency medical treatment.

Head of the Bandung City Communication and Informatics Agency, Henryco Arie Sapiie, confirmed that the city’s top official is currently receiving treatment. However, he was unable to provide details regarding Farhan’s medical diagnosis.

‘I received information that the Mayor is ill. He is currently being taken to hospital. I do not yet know what illness he is suffering from. We are waiting for information from the doctor treating him,’ Henryco stated.

Neither the Bandung City Government nor the medical team has issued an official statement regarding the exact cause of Muhammad Farhan’s declining health. Updates on the Mayor’s condition will be provided as soon as an official statement is released by the authorities.
