Bandung Mayor Farhan Collapses After Receiving Guests at City Hall

The health condition of Bandung Mayor M. Farhan suddenly deteriorated, forcing him to be rushed to hospital from Bandung City Hall on Friday afternoon. Farhan had been at City Hall since midday, but his condition reportedly worsened towards the evening, requiring him to be taken by ambulance. The NasDem politician was previously scheduled to attend a plenary session at the Bandung City Council but was unable to do so due to his health. Head of the Bandung Communication and Informatics Agency, Henryco Arie Sapiie, stated that Farhan is currently under medical care and his team cannot yet provide details regarding his illness. Henryco explained that Farhan had been receiving guests in his office before his condition declined, preventing him from attending the plenary session. He added that medical staff are still conducting examinations and it remains unclear whether the mayor will be hospitalised or allowed to rest at home. Henryco assured that the situation has not disrupted city governance or public services, which continue to operate normally. The city administration urged the public to pray for Farhan’s swift recovery. When taken to the ambulance, Farhan appeared weak and was lying on a stretcher with an IV drip and nasal oxygen tube already fitted.
