Bandung Mayor expresses condolences over death of SMAN 5 Bandung student
Bandung — Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan has expressed deep condolences over the death of a student from SMAN 5 Bandung, Muhammad Fahdly Arjasubrata, who reportedly died following an alleged gang assault by a group of students on Jalan Cihampelas, Bandung, on Friday night, 13 March.
“On behalf of myself and the Bandung City Government, I express my deepest sympathies. May the deceased find the best place beside Almighty God,” Farhan said in Bandung on Saturday.
Farhan hopes that the bereaved family will be given strength and patience in facing this tragedy.
The deceased was an 11th-grade student at SMAN 5 Bandung. His body is scheduled to be buried on Sunday, 15 March 2026 at the Sirnaraga Public Cemetery in Bandung.
The Bandung City Government also prayed that the deceased would find the best place beside Almighty God and that the bereaved family would be given patience and sincerity.
Previously, Coblong Police Station Head Police Major Riki Erickson confirmed that a student from SMAN 5 Bandung died following an alleged clash involving students from SMAN 5 and SMAN 2 Bandung in the Jalan Cihampelas area of Bandung.
“Preliminary indication suggests a clash between SMAN 5 Bandung and SMAN 2 Bandung students,” said Riki.
He stated that one student from SMAN 5 Bandung died as a result of the incident. The incident occurred on Friday night, 13 March, extending into the early morning of Saturday, 14 March.
“Yes, a student from SMAN 5 Bandung died,” he said.
