Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Manpower Agency (Disnaker), in West Java, has launched 139 job training programme packages based on industrial needs, targeting 2,780 participants from all areas of Bandung City.

Head of the Bandung City Manpower Agency, Yayan Ahmad Brilyana, stated that this programme is a tangible response to the community’s needs for work skills and business opportunities.

“This training stems from community aspirations through the DPRD Bandung City recess channel. We are working together to address community aspirations and create changes that are directly felt,” Yayan said in Bandung on Monday.

Yayan noted that the training will run for 10 days starting from 20 April 2026, designed as short-term learning focused on practical skills.

A total of 14 fields of expertise are offered, ranging from culinary skills such as barista and pastry, fashion and crafts like sewing and batik-making, to beauty services, technology, and creative economy sectors like digital marketing and graphic design.

He said all training will be held at various vocational training institutions (LPK) scattered across Bandung City, involving professional instructors to ensure learning quality.

“Not only gaining knowledge, participants will also receive various supporting facilities, from meals and drinks during training, seminar kits, practical materials, to transport allowance of Rp50,000 per day,” he said.

Yayan hopes this programme will be part of the Bandung City Government’s strategy to reduce unemployment rates and strengthen the community economy.

“We hope the community not only gains theory but direct practice until they are ready to work or start their own business,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission IV of the Bandung City DPRD, Agung Firmansyah, described this programme as a response to the community’s need for job opportunities.

“This training comes from community aspirations that require job opportunities. The hope is that after having skills and knowledge, they can be independent or even create new job opportunities,” Agung said.

According to him, the impact of the training will not only stop at the participants but can extend to the surrounding environment, and participants are expected to share knowledge or build businesses that involve others in the community.

“If they open a business like a coffee shop or other ventures, they can invite their peers. This is the domino effect we hope for,” he added.
