Bandung (ANTARA) - Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung has stated that the condition of Yuvita Tri Rezeki (29), a victim of alleged severe abuse and three-year confinement by her boyfriend Taufik Hidayat in Bandung Regency, is gradually improving during intensive care.

RSHS Bandung’s Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research, Dr. Fitra Hergyana, said the patient is now able to sit up and engage in light activities while recovering before undergoing surgery.

“Alhamdulillah, the patient can now sit and carry out some activities. Yesterday, we also performed debridement, or wound cleaning, while waiting for the operation,” Fitra said on Friday.

The medical team cannot yet confirm the surgery schedule as they are still focused on treating the victim’s infection.

“Currently, there is still an infection. Once the infection is under control, the surgery will be carried out,” he said.

Fitra explained that the treatment involves not only physical recovery but also psychological care.

He added that the victim will undergo surgery in stages, based on medical evaluations following each procedure.

“The surgery cannot be done all at once. We will assess the results of the first operation before deciding on the next steps,” he said.

Previously, the West Java Regional Police named Taufik Hidayat as a suspect in the case of confinement and abuse against YTR, which allegedly lasted for approximately three years at a boarding house in Cileunyi, Bandung Regency.

As a result of the incident, the victim sustained multiple severe injuries affecting her physical condition, including impaired vision, difficulty speaking, and an inability to walk normally.
