PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung recorded a massive movement of nearly one million people over 22 days during the 2026 Eid transport period, with Bandung Station and Kiaracondong Station noted as the busiest hubs serving hundreds of thousands of mudik travellers.

Based on data from Daop 2 Bandung received in Bandung on Wednesday, cumulatively from 11 March to 1 April 2026, there were 441,610 departing passengers and 430,569 arriving passengers through the Daop 2 Bandung region.

At Bandung Station during that period, there were a total of 122,972 departures and 122,350 arrivals. In second place, Kiaracondong Station, a mainstay for economy-class trains, served 89,946 departing passengers and 75,037 arriving passengers.

Interestingly, besides the two main stations in Bandung City, five regional stations in West Java, from Tasikmalaya to Purwakarta, entered the list of the seven busiest points during that period.

β€œThe high passenger volume at these seven busiest stations is an indicator that KAI services are increasingly becoming the primary choice for the public who prioritise safety, punctuality, and comfort,” said Kuswardojo, the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, in his statement.

To ensure smooth operations at these seven dense points, Daop 2, he said, has prepared anticipatory measures from adding personnel to strict track supervision to implement operational standards that prioritise security.

Despite the surging passenger volume, Kuswardojo said KAI ensures all journeys run according to safety standards. Cross-sector coordination has also been tightened at stations with high mobility to avoid passenger build-ups during peak mudik and return hours.

The 2026 Eid transport period with records of seven density hubs, Kuswardojo added, will serve as evaluation material for Daop 2 Bandung to enhance service quality in the next national transport period.
