Bandung Home of MBG Corruption Suspect Searched by Attorney General's Office for New Evidence
The investigation into alleged corruption in the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to progress. After conducting searches at several locations in Jakarta, a team of investigators from the Attorney General’s Office has now expanded the search for evidence to Bandung, West Java. This step was taken to strengthen the body of evidence in the case, which has already ensnared four suspects, including several former senior officials of the BGN.
Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, confirmed that searches were carried out at various different locations. He stated that besides Jakarta and Bandung, other related sites were also searched. ‘Some time ago, it was still ongoing, there were places in Jakarta, in Bandung, and also in several other locations,’ he said, as quoted on Friday, 12 June 2026.
However, the Adhyaksa Corps has not yet disclosed the specific points of the searches in detail. Syarief only confirmed that the searches were conducted at a number of offices and residences deemed to have a connection to the alleged MBG corruption case. For the location in Bandung, investigators are known to have targeted the residence of one of the suspects who has been named in the case. ‘Yes, a residence. The suspect’s residence in Bandung,’ he said.
From the series of searches conducted, investigators have seized a number of items of evidence considered important for uncovering the construction of the case. The evidence consists of documents and electronic devices, which are currently undergoing further analysis. Syarief explained that the current focus of investigators is to trace evidence that can illustrate the role of each suspect in the alleged irregularities of the MBG programme. ‘We are still focusing on documents and electronic evidence that point to the actions of the suspects to complete the existing evidence,’ he said.
