Bandung floods yet to subside
BANDUNG, West Java: Flooding along the course of the Citarum river, which has inundated areas South of Bandung since the first week of March, has yet to fully subside.
Endang Adriana, a member of the search and rescue team, said water levels continued to fluctuate depending on rainfall.
"If there is heavy rain then the river overflows," she said, as quoted by Antara yesterday.
However water levels, generally only a few centimeters deep, are low enough to allow residents to begin to clean and repair their homes, except in the worst hit areas nearest the river channel, which are still in 50 centimeters of water.
