Bandung City Transportation Agency: 232 BRT stops to begin construction

Bandung City Department of Transportation says construction of BRT stops in Bandung City has begun, with a total of 232 stops. Head of Facilities and Infrastructure at the Bandung City Transportation Service, Ferlian Hadi, said that overall there are 256 stop points to be built in the Bandung Basin region. ‘For off-corridor stops, there are 256 points in the Bandung Basin region. Of that total, 232 points are in Bandung City and the remaining 24 points are in Cimahi,’ said Ferlian in Bandung on Saturday.

According to him, of the 232 stops to be built in Bandung City, 172 are pole-type stop indicators, 80 are small stops, and four are large stops.

By road status, 38 stops are on national roads, 45 on provincial roads, and 149 on city roads. In addition to off-corridor stops, the project also includes the construction of around 37 dedicated BRT line stops.

‘On-corridor’ routes are dedicated, while off-corridor routes use mixed traffic with other vehicles, he said. Some stops are located along Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, around Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Jalan Ramdan, BKR, Wastukancana, Dago, and Jalan Merdeka.

He said, based on the target from the Ministry of Transport, the construction of BRT stops both on-corridor and off-corridor is targeted to be completed by the end of 2026.
