Bandung City Inspects 15,000 Sacrificial Animals Ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 H
Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Food Security and Agriculture Department (DKPP) in West Java has inspected 15,000 sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah across various sales points. ‘We continue to conduct inspections. In some areas, there is strict monitoring to determine the health of sacrificial animals,’ said Wilsandi Saefuloh, Head of the Livestock and Animal Health Section of DKPP Bandung, on Tuesday. He stated that 90 inspection officers have been deployed across all districts in Bandung to check physical condition, fitness, and ensure freedom from contagious diseases. Wilsandi explained that the criteria for inspected sacrificial animals include not only health but also age and physical condition. ‘Some are healthy but unsuitable, while others are unhealthy and unsuitable,’ he said. ‘No contagious diseases have been found so far. Most animals are sold on the roadside, making them vulnerable to minor illnesses due to weather changes or improper feed,’ he added. Furthermore, DKPP has formed inspection teams spread across all 30 districts and at newly formed or less busy sales points. ‘The officers deployed include professional veterinarians, student volunteers, and higher education institutions,’ he said.
