Bandung City Government is providing 250 free mudik seats for residents during Lebaran 2026, scheduled to depart on 17 March 2026 from Bandung City Hall.

Head of Bandung City’s Transportation Agency Rasdian Setiadi said the programme is directed at Bandung residents, especially those in the lower-income group.

“At the Bandung City Transportation Agency, the plan is for 17 March 2026. The departure is planned from City Hall,” Rasdian said when contacted in Bandung on Friday.

Rasdian noted that the free mudik routes cover areas both inside and outside West Java Province.

For intraprovincial destinations, routes prepared include to Cirebon via Sumedang and Majalengka, and the southern route to Tasikmalaya.

He added that all quotas of free mudik provided by the Bandung City Government have been filled with priority given to low-income residents.

“However for those who have not obtained seats, we advise taking advantage of the free mudik programme organised by the West Java Provincial Government,” he said.

Additionally, authorities have conducted vehicle roadworthiness checks (ramp checks) on the buses to be used in the mudik programme, at Leuwipanjang Terminal and Cicaheum Terminal.

“The inspections are carried out to ensure the vehicles are safe and roadworthy before being used to transport mudik travellers,” he said.
