Bandung City Government Targets Over Rp101 Billion Turnover for Bandung Shopping Month
The Bandung City Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin) has set a target for the turnover of the 2026 Bandung Shopping Month (BBB) programme to exceed Rp101 billion, as part of an effort to drive regional economic growth.
The Head of Disdagin Bandung, Ronny Ahmad Nurudin, stated that the programme, which is entering its third year of implementation, will be organised using a more collaborative approach involving a wider range of stakeholders.
Ronny explained that the activities will commence with the Bandung Creative Market, running from 8 June to 2 August 2026. This will be followed by the Indonesia Shopping Festival (ISF), initiated by the Indonesian Shopping Centre Management Association, and the Indonesian Discount Shopping Day (HBDI), organised by the Indonesian Retailer and Shopping Centre Tenant Association.
As the programme’s climax, the Bandung City Government will host the Bandung Great Sale from 21–23 August 2026 at Laswi Heritage, serving as a promotional platform for various flagship products from Bandung.
Ronny noted that the BBB programme aims to increase trading activities, expand market access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and stimulate public consumption. “This is a strategic agenda to mobilise the economy. We want to increase the competitiveness of business actors while strengthening the branding of local Bandung products,” he said.
He added that the event serves as a vital instrument in maintaining Bandung’s economic growth, which was recorded at 5.29 per cent in 2025. According to him, the success of the Bandung Shopping Month requires cross-sector collaboration, including the tourism, hospitality, and culinary sectors, as well as various business communities in Bandung. “There is no competition, only collaboration. We want all stakeholders to be involved so that the impact is more widespread,” he concluded.
