Bandung City (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government in West Java is conducting socialisation of the bus rapid transit (BRT) development to communities in the affected areas.

Head of the Bandung City Transportation Department Rasdian Setiadi stated that the socialisation will target 22 districts as an initial step before the BRT corridor construction begins.

“This socialisation will be carried out comprehensively in the 22 affected districts. We will involve communities from the ward level, neighbourhood units (RT/RW), to street vendors,” said Rasdian in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday.

According to him, the socialisation is being done in an integrated manner by conveying all aspects of the development, both on-corridor and off-corridor routes, including potential impacts that may arise.

“Not just partially, but we will convey the entire plan so that the community understands it holistically, including the impacts and their handling,” said Rasdian.

He explained that the on-corridor route, spanning about 21 kilometres, will be the most affected area, passing through Andir, Regol, and Sumur Bandung districts, among others.

The construction of the dedicated BRT lane will use separators as lane dividers, with a design adjusted to avoid disrupting surrounding activities.

Rasdian emphasised that the socialisation is important to be conducted so that the community can know from the outset the changes that will occur on the ground.

The Transportation Department targets the socialisation activities to start being implemented from late April to early May 2026.
