Bandung City Government Seeks New Bandung Zoo Manager
Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government is seeking a new manager for Bandung Zoo through a market sounding activity scheduled for Monday (13/4) at the Aryaduta Hotel.
The Acting Head of the Bandung City Regional Financial and Asset Agency (BKAD), West Java, Agus Slamet Firdaus, stated that the event is part of the scheme for utilising Regional Owned Goods (BMD) in the form of Utilisation Cooperation (KSP).
“Through market sounding, the Bandung City Government wants to attract potential partners while ensuring the cooperation process is transparent, competitive, and in accordance with regulations,” Agus said in Bandung on Friday.
According to him, the scheme aims to bring professional, integrated, and sustainable zoo management.
In the forum, the Bandung City Government is inviting various parties, particularly legal conservation institutions, to participate and provide interest and input regarding the management of Bandung Zoo.
Agus explained that the offered cooperation not only focuses on animal conservation but also includes integrated green open space management as well as the development of educational and recreational facilities for the public.
He added that this step is part of a comprehensive overhaul of Bandung Zoo, from governance aspects, animal welfare, to improving the quality of public services.
“Involvement of the central government in this scheme remains a primary concern, given that the management of animals, especially protected species, falls under national authority,” he said.
Agus hopes this activity can attract interest from investors or conservation institutions that have the competence and commitment to sustainably manage the animals at Bandung Zoo.
