Bandung City Government Respects Termination of Legal Proceedings Against Deputy Mayor Erwin

The Bandung City Government respects the decision by the Bandung District Attorney’s Office to terminate the legal process regarding alleged corruption involving Bandung Deputy Mayor Erwin through the issuance of a Termination of Investigation Order (SP3).

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that the City Government has been committed from the outset to respecting all ongoing legal processes while ensuring that government operations and public services continue smoothly.

“As I have previously stated, the most important thing is legal certainty. With this decision, I hope all parties can respect the process that has unfolded and look forward together,” Farhan said in Bandung on Wednesday.

Farhan emphasised that the Bandung City Government’s current focus remains on improving public services, implementing development projects, and resolving various issues faced by the community. He noted that Bandung is currently facing various challenges that require attention, hard work, and collaboration from all elements of society.

“What is most important to us is ensuring that the public continues to receive good service, development continues, and various city issues can be handled optimally,” he added.

He assured that the Bandung City Government will continue to work professionally, maintain government stability, strengthen collaboration, and ensure all priority programmes are implemented effectively to realise a better Bandung.

Previously, the Bandung District Attorney’s Office officially halted the investigation into the alleged corruption case involving Deputy Mayor Erwin and Bandung Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) member Rendiana Awangga regarding the abuse of authority within the Bandung City Government in 2025.

The Head of the Bandung District Attorney’s Office, Abun Hasbuloh Sambas, stated that the termination of the investigation was conducted because investigators had not found any actual flow of funds received by the suspects, meaning the elements of a corruption crime were not fulfilled.

“However, it is noted that if in the future there are witnesses or other evidence related to these actions, we will reopen the case,” said Abun.
