Bandung City Government Prepares Parking Pockets for 2026 Asia Africa Festival
The Bandung City Government is preparing a number of parking pockets and tightening supervision of illegal parking practices to support the smooth implementation of the 2026 Asia Africa Festival. Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said parking pockets will be provided at several points, from Jalan Naripan to Cikapundung, to accommodate visitors’ vehicles. ‘If we find illegal parking, we will take immediate action. There will be no tolerance for illegal parking or extortionate parking charges,’ Farhan said in a statement received in Bandung on Friday. He said traffic engineering plans are currently being finalised by the Transportation Department together with the Bandung Police to ensure the festival runs smoothly. Farhan stressed that he would not tolerate illegal parking practices or illegal parking levies during the event. He also explained that the entire budget for organising the 2026 Asia Africa Festival has been allocated from the Bandung City Budget for 2026. However, the implementation of the festival will still adjust to the government’s budget efficiency policy, so the event concept will be made simpler without reducing its quality.
