Bandung City Government Organises Eid Prayer at City Hall Plaza
The Bandung City Government is preparing several parking pockets to support the implementation of the city-level Eid al-Fitr prayer, which will be held at the City Hall Plaza in Bandung on Saturday (21/3). The Eid prayer is scheduled to begin at 06:00 WIB and is open to the entire community.
This year’s Eid prayer implementation is centred at the City Hall Plaza in accordance with the instructions of the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan. He, along with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and all heads of Regional Device Organisations (OPD), will join the community in performing the prayer.
The Head of the Transport Order Section of the Operational Control Division of the Bandung City Transportation Department, Ulloh Abdulloh, stated that to anticipate the surge in worshippers, the Bandung City Transportation Department has prepared several parking areas around the City Hall. The main parking location is in the southern and western areas of the City Hall, while several alternative points have also been prepared, including Taman Dewi Sartika, the Al Ukhuwah Mosque area, the Inspectorate parking area on Jalan Aceh, and the Wastukancana road body on the left side of the road.
“The main parking remains at the City Hall, especially on the southern and western sides. But we also prepare alternatives such as at Taman Dewi Sartika, Ukhuwah, Jalan Aceh, and Wastukancana,” said Ulloh.
In addition, the basement of the Al Ukhuwah Mosque can be utilised by the public as long as it does not disrupt traffic flow. To support vehicle movement, the Bandung City Transportation Department is also deploying around 15 to 20 personnel who will assist in traffic regulation and directing worshipper parking.
“We ensure that traffic conditions on the morning of the Eid prayer implementation are relatively smooth because the majority of the community will focus on performing worship. Morning traffic will not be congested, and even some road sections can be used situationally for parking,” he emphasised.
The implementation of Eid prayer at the Bandung City Hall Plaza becomes one of the moments of community togetherness while ensuring smoothness and security for the attending worshippers.
