Bandung City Government Holds Job Fair Offering 2,361 Vacancies
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) held a job fair on Thursday (18/6), offering 2,361 vacancies from 20 companies in a bid to lower the city’s open unemployment rate. Head of the Bandung City Manpower Office (Disnaker), Yayan Ahmad Briliyana, stated that the job fair was held at the KONI Sports Hall in Bandung. “This event is free of charge and is one of the Pemkot Bandung’s efforts to directly connect job seekers with companies in need of workers,” Yayan said in Bandung on Monday. Yayan emphasised the important role of job fairs in bridging job seekers and companies requiring labour. During the event, he said, job seekers could obtain comprehensive information through the New Bimma Bandung application, which provides complete employment services. Yayan noted that the public could apply directly at the venue or through the online system prepared via the New Bimma application. “This application has around 20 employment services, ranging from job-ready account registration, job training services, job placement facilitation, to coaching services and industrial relations dispute resolution,” he said. Subsequently, the companies will determine the test and interview schedules according to their respective mechanisms.
