Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government ensures that employee expenditure remains below the maximum limit of 30 percent of the total Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). “This policy is implemented to maintain the health of regional finances. As of today, we have only reached 29 percent, so it can still be kept below 30 percent,” said Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan in Bandung on Friday. Farhan assured that the Bandung City Government complies with these provisions in budget management. Therefore, various adjustments are being made. One of the steps taken is to delay increases in certain budgets. In addition, civil servant recruitment will be calculated carefully to avoid burdening the finances. He also assured that there will be no termination of employment contracts for non-permanent civil servants (PPPK), allowing efforts to maintain workforce stability. “We eliminate the possibility of layoffs. We are working very hard to ensure that fiscal capacity is still met,” he said. He added that increasing the APBD is a medium-term strategy to maintain budget balance. The target is for Bandung City’s APBD to rise again above Rp8 trillion.
