Bandung City Government Contracts Bandung Zoo Employees Under Expert Staff Scheme
Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot Bandung) has ensured the continuity of the livelihoods of workers at Bandung Zoo by contracting them as expert staff during the transitional management period. Secretary of the Bandung City Manpower Office (Disnaker), Bariati Ratna Aju, explained that the Bandung Zoo workers have been officially contracted since 25 March 2026. “This scheme is temporary, pending the determination of a new manager through a tender process. For employment issues at Bandung Zoo, the government’s solution is to recruit them as expert staff,” said Bariati in Bandung on Thursday. Bariati revealed that the contract is valid until 24 May 2026. This duration is aligned with the Bandung City Government’s target of appointing a new manager before early May. “This work contract starts from 25 March and will end on 24 May 2026, assuming a new manager is in place before that date,” she said. “This is different from a fixed-term work contract like PKWT. This is an expert staff contract because their expertise is rarely possessed by others,” she added. She stated that the total number of contracted workers is 121, receiving wages in accordance with the Bandung City Minimum Wage (UMK), which is around Rp4.7 million per month. “For the value, we adjust it to the applicable UMK in Bandung City,” said Bariati. Bariati mentioned that the Bandung City Government has also prepared a budget of Rp568.7 million per month to pay the salaries of these workers.
