Bandung City Government Cancels Zoo Opening for Eid Due to Lack of Permission

Bandung – The Bandung City Government has cancelled plans to open Bandung Zoo during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah period. The reason is that the Ministry of Forestry did not grant operational permission because there is no responsible conservation body. “The zoo failed to open, not given permission by the Ministry of Forestry because to this day there is no conservation body that can take responsibility, so we will close it,” said Bandung Mayor M Farhan recently. Nevertheless, he stated that his side will still ensure the welfare of employees, including the welfare of the animals. Next, his side will announce to the public that Bandung Zoo is still closed. He continued that his side is targeting a conservation body for Bandung Zoo to be in place to manage it. Until next month, it is still held by the Ministry of Forestry, the Forestry Service, and the Bandung City Government’s Asset Agency.
