Bandung City Government: 85.9 Percent of the Public Satisfied with Healthcare Services
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot Bandung) has recorded a public satisfaction rate of 85.9 percent with healthcare services, based on a Kompas Litbang survey conducted from 23 February to 3 March 2026. Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that this achievement positions the health sector as the public service with the most positive evaluation compared to other sectors in Bandung. Farhan highlighted the main factor perceived by the public as the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) coverage in Bandung, which stands at 99.39 percent with 2,583,777 health insurance participants. This expansion of access is supported by increasingly responsive health facilities, including 24-hour services at several puskesmas locations, such as Puskesmas Ibrahim Adjie and Puskesmas Garuda. In the past year, Pemkot Bandung has strengthened services at 80 puskesmas, improved referral services at regional hospitals, and added 236 healthcare personnel. Head of the Bandung City Health Office, Sony Adam, said that this satisfaction rate is a positive indicator but still requires continuous improvement. “The 85.9 percent satisfaction figure shows that the public has already felt the benefits of healthcare services. However, this serves as a basis for continuing to enhance service quality, particularly in ensuring more equitable access and accelerating service delivery,” he stated. He added that in the future, they will strengthen primary healthcare services and improve integration between puskesmas and hospitals to make services more efficient. Pemkot Bandung is committed to continuously strengthening healthcare services through facility improvements and the addition of medical personnel to ensure more equitable services for the public.
