Bandung City Enters Top Three Fastest-Growing Tourism Destinations in Asia According to Agoda
Bandung City, West Java, has recorded a proud achievement in the international tourism sector. According to the latest report from the digital travel platform Agoda, Bandung has successfully entered the top three fastest-growing tourism destinations in Asia.
In the list, Bandung occupies the third position, alongside other prominent destinations such as Sa Pa in Vietnam and Okayama in Japan.
The Head of the Communication and Informatics Agency of Bandung City, Henryco Arie Sapiie, explained yesterday that this assessment was based on accommodation booking data throughout 2025 compared to the previous year, thus reflecting a real surge in tourist interest. This achievement demonstrates that Bandung’s attractiveness continues to increase among both domestic and international tourists.
“Various factors are driving this, ranging from the beauty of the mountain landscapes, cool air, to the richness of culture and cuisine that are characteristic of this city,” he clarified.
Furthermore, Henryco stated that the rapid development of the tourism sector is also supported by the addition of new tourist destinations, an increase in the number of accommodations, and a dynamic growth in the creative economy. Bandung is considered successful in providing a complete tourism experience, from nature tourism, shopping, to cuisine that has become a favourite among tourists.
“In addition, Bandung’s image as the ‘Paris of Java’ with colonial architecture, heritage areas, as well as fashion and culinary centres, becomes an added value that is hard to compete with by other cities in Asia. Moreover, improved accessibility makes Bandung the top choice for short holidays or weekends,” he emphasised.
Henryco mentioned that Bandung City’s entry into the top three Asian tourism destinations according to Agoda serves as a positive signal for the future of the city’s tourism. With continuously developing potential, Bandung is believed to be able to strengthen its position at the global level while becoming a driver of the regional economy through the tourism sector.
