Bandung City Appointed Host of 2027 Apeksi National Working Meeting

Bandung City has been appointed as the host of the 2027 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi), after securing support during a series of Apeksi activities in Medan. Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated in Bandung on Wednesday that the certainty was obtained after attending the entire Apeksi agenda in Medan. “I was in Medan from the first day to the last. We were lobbying for Bandung to become the host of the 2027 Apeksi Rakernas and, alhamdulillah, we succeeded,” he said. According to Farhan, the appointment is a momentum for Bandung City to once again demonstrate its capacity as an organiser of national-scale agendas. Furthermore, hosting the Apeksi Rakernas is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism, hospitality, and culinary sectors, as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), while also serving as a promotional platform for Bandung City’s potential. Nevertheless, Farhan emphasised that the host status also demands readiness across various aspects, from cleanliness, security, and comfort to supporting infrastructure. “We must show that Bandung City is ready to welcome guests from all over Indonesia,” he said.
