Bandung Becomes Meeting Point for West Java-Selangor Investment Collaboration
Bandung has become a meeting point for investment collaboration between West Java and Selangor. The West Java Provincial Government has agreed to establish cooperation in the fields of trade and investment with the Malaysian state, commencing with a conference held at the Pullman Hotel Bandung on 9–10 July 2026.
“This conference aims to encourage industrial investment and foster long-term partnerships between two economic powers, namely Selangor and West Java,” said the Head of the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency, Dedi Taufik Dedi, on Sunday, 5 July 2026.
On the first day, Dedi continued, the conference was opened with remarks from the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, and the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan. This was followed by a presentation from the West Java Deputy regarding the province’s infrastructure plans, while representatives from Selangor presented industrial developments within their state.
The conference will also feature panel discussions addressing potential cooperation in supply chains, business, and finance between Indonesia and Malaysia.
On the second day, the Selangor delegation plans to conduct field visits to several industrial centres in West Java to explore collaborations in aerospace, railways, creative industries, energy, property, and technology.
The conference also serves as an opportunity for Malaysian and Indonesian institutions to collaborate, including partnerships between Universiti Selangor and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Tourism Selangor and Batik Air, Tourism Selangor and the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (Asita), as well as Wanita Berdaya Selangor and Bappenas.
Dedi noted that the cooperation between the two parties involves the West Java Chamber of Commerce (Kadin Jabar) and Invest Selangor Berhad, which is the investment agency in Selangor. The conference also features 30 booths from Selangor’s health and education institutions, including Ampang Putri Specialist Hospital, MSU Medical Centre, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre, Universiti Selangor, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, and Universiti Islam Selangor.
Dedi added that beyond the conference in Bandung, the cooperation between both parties will be followed up during the Selangor International Business Summit 2026, held from 14–17 October 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) in Malaysia.
