Bandung 'Bang Jago' Extortionist Arrested After Targeting B-Plate Vehicle — Face Revealed

A viral act of intimidation was carried out by an individual against a B-plate vehicle driver in the Dago Atas area of Bandung, West Java. The perpetrator threatened to damage the vehicle unless given a minimum of Rp50,000.

According to detikJabar, in the circulating video, the suspect identified as Demon questioned the driver’s origin. Upon learning the victim was from outside the area, he demanded money, claiming it would ensure the driver’s safe passage.

The suspect, seen shirtless with only a scarf around his neck, also intimidated the victim with threats of vehicle damage if his demands were not met.

“Add more… add more… add more… I’ll smash it up front, already coordinated with Demon,” the suspect said.

“Whatever you want, Rp50,000 or more, it’s up to you. Whatever,” he added.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 23 May, shortly after Persib Bandung celebrated winning the 2025/2026 Super League title. The suspect is believed to be a Bobotoh (Persib supporter) involved in the celebrations.

Coblong Police Chief Kompol Riki Erickson confirmed the suspect had been detained for questioning, stating he was under the influence of alcohol during the extortion attempt.

“The motive was that during the euphoria, they were drinking together. So perhaps they were short on money or something, and asked for cash to buy more drinks,” he said.

In photos obtained by detikcom, the suspect was seen wearing a long-sleeved dark striped shirt and sunglasses, escorted by officers into the interrogation room.

In another photo, he was seen sitting face-to-face with investigators, head bowed, during questioning.
