Bandung Arts Festival Becomes a Meeting Space for Archipelago and International Artists
Thousands of participants filled the Cultural Centre Building (GPK) in Bandung on Sunday (26/7/2026) to take part in the Colossal Ngabatik Dance as part of the Bandung Arts Festival (BAF) #12. The festival presented a variety of arts and cultural activities, ranging from batik workshops, dance workshops, and cultural symposiums, to performances by dozens of art studios from various regions in Indonesia and abroad. Beyond serving as a platform for presenting works, the event also provided a space for dancers and artists to meet, exchange experiences, and strengthen cultural networks. The various traditional performances on display reflected the richness of Indonesian culture while reinforcing cultural diplomacy through the participation of international artists. The organisers hope the Bandung Arts Festival will continue to be a vessel for cultural preservation and for introducing Indonesia’s cultural wealth to the wider public and the world.
