Bandarlampung City Government distributed aid to residents affected by floods in several areas of the city to ease the burden on the community after the disaster. “Aid will be given to flood victims in this city,” said Mayor Eva Dwiana in Bandarlampung on Friday. She said the aid provided by the government consists of 10 kilograms of rice and Rp1 million in cash to ease the burden on flood victims. “We will give the rice and cash tonight to residents who are affected,” she said. She also urged her aides to act quickly to evacuate and provide assistance to residents and to handle homes affected by the floods. “We hope this aid reaches those truly impacted,” she added. Meanwhile, Head of the Implementing Agency for the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bandarlampung City, Idham Basyar, said that heavy rains that drenched the city for about two hours on Friday caused several areas to flood. “Our notes show several areas flooded including Rajabasa, Sukarame, Sukabumi, Way Halim, Tanjung Senang, Labuhan Ratu and Kedamaian. At present the team is conducting evacuations at affected homes,” he said.
