Banda Aceh Receives 950-Kilogram Sacrificial Cow Donated by the President

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Banda Aceh City Government has received a sacrificial cow donation from President Prabowo Subianto weighing 950 kilograms to be slaughtered and distributed to the city’s residents ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 AH.

‘Alhamdulillah, Banda Aceh City has received a sacrificial cow donated by President Prabowo,’ said Iskandar, Head of the Banda Aceh City Food, Agriculture, Marine and Fisheries Service (DP2KP), in Banda Aceh on Friday.

Iskandar said the sacrificial cow donated by the President weighs about 950 kilograms and is of the Simmental breed, bought from a local cattle farmer in Ilie Village, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh for Rp83 million.

‘Today we held a meeting with staff of the Presidential Secretariat, staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Aceh Livestock Service. In the meeting the central team has adjusted the price to match the farmers in Ilie Village,’ he said.

‘For the distribution of the meat, it will be shared among city residents who may have little or few sacrificial animals in their village,’ he said.

He added that before being purchased, the President’s donation cow had met the eligibility criteria for consumption, having undergone a health check.

‘It has been health-checked. We will also continue to monitor its health to keep it healthy until the slaughter day,’ Iskandar concluded.
