Banda Aceh Military Command Holds Prayer for Rain

Banda Aceh — The 0101/Banda Aceh Military Command (Kodim) performed Shalat Istisqa and a collective prayer to beseech Allah SWT for rainfall to end the prolonged drought in the region.

“The implementation of Shalat Istisqa is a form of both physical and spiritual effort to ask Allah SWT to send rain that brings blessings, provides benefits to community life, and maintains the balance of nature,” said preacher M. Ikhsan during his sermon at the 0101/Banda Aceh Military Command headquarters on Wednesday.

The activity was led directly by the Commander of the 01_01/Banda Aceh Military Command, Colonel Inf Faurizal Noerdin, and was attended by officers, sub-district military commanders (Danramil), and civil servants (PNS) of the command.

He explained that the activity also serves as a momentum to strengthen faith and increase awareness that every blessing, including the falling of rain, is entirely a gift from Allah SWT.

“We invite all participants to continuously increase their piety, multiply their prayers for forgiveness (istigfar), and improve their relationship with Allah SWT as part of the effort to seek mercy and blessings,” said M. Ikhsan.

According to him, Shalat Istisqa carries a profound meaning regarding the humility of a servant before the Creator. Through prayers offered with sincerity, Muslims are invited to realise that only Allah SWT has the power to bring rain, provide sustenance, and maintain the continuity of life.

The Commander of the 0101/Banda Aceh Military Command, Colonel Inf Faurizal Noerdin, stated that his unit does not only carry out duties in maintaining regional defence but also builds spiritual values, strengthens togetherness, and fosters concern for social and environmental conditions.

He expressed hope that this effort, accompanied by collective prayer, would serve as an inspiration for all personnel to continue serving the nation and state, grounded in faith, care, and a spirit of togetherness.
