The Class I TPI Immigration Office in Banda Aceh has brought back its ‘Paspor Minggu Ceria’ (Pasporia) programme to make it easier for the public to process passports.

The Pasporia service was held at the car-free day (CFD) area in Banda Aceh on Sunday.

During the event, 12 residents used the service to process passports, comprising seven new passport applications and five replacement or renewal applications.

Head of the Class I TPI Immigration Office in Banda Aceh, Bambang Tri Cahyono, said the Pasporia programme was born out of the need for flexible services for residents with busy schedules who find it difficult to set aside time on working days to handle immigration documents.

“The concept is simple: residents can still enjoy their morning at the CFD while exercising, but at the same time their passport matters can also be settled without having to come to the office during working hours,” he said.

Although held in an open space and within a limited time, he said, all verification stages and requirement checks still follow the applicable standard operating procedures (SOP), including clarity on fees and requirements in accordance with Directorate General of Immigration regulations.

The sustained public enthusiasm at each event, he said, is a positive signal that this kind of service model is genuinely needed by the community.

“Going forward, Banda Aceh Immigration will continue to maintain and develop similar programmes as part of efforts to deliver immigration services that are fast, transparent and easily accessible to all groups,” Bambang said.
