Banda Aceh Immigration Deports Three Indian Nationals
Three foreign nationals from India have been deported to their home country for breaches of Indonesia’s immigration laws.
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) — The Banda Aceh Class I Immigration Office (TPI) has deported three Indian nationals for violating immigration provisions as regulated by law.
Head of the Banda Aceh Class I TPI Immigration Office, Bambang Tri Cahyono, said in Banda Aceh on Sunday that the deportation of foreign nationals to their home country constitutes the implementation of an Immigration Administrative Action (TAK).
“Three foreign nationals from India have been deported or repatriated to their home country for violations of immigration law,” he said.
The repatriation was carried out via Kualanamu International Airport in North Sumatra, with a flight route to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before continuing on to Mumbai, India, on Thursday (16 July).
Bambang Tri Cahyono said the three foreign nationals were proven to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 states that immigration officials are authorised to take Immigration Administrative Action against foreigners in Indonesian territory who engage in dangerous activities suspected of endangering security and public order, or who disrespect or fail to comply with prevailing laws and regulations.
“Every immigration violation will be dealt with in accordance with applicable provisions. This is part of efforts to maintain public order and state sovereignty,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, emphasised the importance of monitoring the presence and activities of foreigners in Aceh Province.
“We continue to strengthen supervision and immigration law enforcement in a professional and humane manner, to ensure that every foreign national in Indonesia complies with the applicable regulations,” said Tato Juliadin Hidayawan.
