Banda Aceh Immigration Deports Three Indian Nationals

The Banda Aceh Class I Immigration Office has deported three Indian nationals for violating immigration regulations as stipulated by law. Head of the Banda Aceh Immigration Office, Bambang Tri Cahyono, stated on Sunday that the deportation of the foreign nationals was an implementation of Immigration Administrative Action. ‘Three foreign nationals from India were deported to their home country due to violations of immigration laws,’ he said. The repatriation process was carried out via Kualanamu International Airport in North Sumatra, with a flight route to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before continuing on to Mumbai, India, on Thursday (16/7). Bambang Tri Cahyono stated that the three foreign nationals were proven to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 states that immigration officials are authorised to take Immigration Administrative Action against foreigners in Indonesian territory who engage in dangerous activities and are reasonably suspected of endangering public security and order, or who do not respect or obey the prevailing laws and regulations. ‘We will take action against any immigration violation in accordance with applicable regulations. This is part of our efforts to maintain order and state sovereignty,’ he said. Meanwhile, Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration for Aceh, Tato Juliadin Hidayawan, emphasised the importance of monitoring the presence and activities of foreign nationals in Aceh Province. ‘We continue to strengthen supervision and law enforcement in immigration matters in a professional and humane manner, to ensure that every foreign national in Indonesia complies with the prevailing regulations,’ said Tato Juliadin Hidayawan.
