Ban firearm ownership
Ban firearm ownership
From Koran Tempo
A criminologist at the University of Indonesia, Adrianus
Meliala, has warned that the use of firearms, now becoming all
too common, can become a social time bomb in Indonesia (Tempo
Interaktif, Sept. 2).
In my opinion, the use or ownership of firearms should be
banned entirely because it is not beneficial and will only cause
public anxiety.
Latest developments in the country have shown that the
mentality of firearm users is still immature. I would like to
appeal to the government to issue a prohibition before more
people are victimized.
