He stated that amidst increasingly complex social challenges, ranging from the rising threat of cybercrime and the spread of radical ideologies through digital platforms to the dynamics of social conflicts caused by global economic pressures, the existence of community organisations with strong roots in national values is becoming increasingly relevant. The relatively conducive national security situation throughout 2025 is an important asset for the sustainability of national development and economic growth.

“KBPP Polri must emerge as a social force capable of preserving unity, strengthening community resilience, and serving as a bridge between the people and state institutions. In the current global situation, which is full of uncertainty, the solidarity of the organisation is an important factor in keeping Indonesia safe, peaceful, and productive,” said Bamsoet in a statement on Friday (15/5/2026).

He made these remarks while attending the opening of the 6th National Conference of KBPP Polri in Jakarta on Friday (15/5). The former 20th Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and 7th Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives explained that current national security challenges have changed very rapidly. Threats are no longer always in the form of physical conflict, but rather ideological infiltration through social media, the spread of divisive hoaxes, and the increasing practice of thuggery that disrupts investment stability and community life.

Data from the Indonesian National Police shows that throughout 2025, the police handled more than 325,000 criminal cases, with a case resolution rate of 76.22 percent. On the other hand, the Densus 88 anti-terror squad has also succeeded in maintaining a zero-terrorist-attack status for three consecutive years through a measured approach of prevention and law enforcement.

“National security cannot be entirely borne by state apparatus. It requires the active participation of civil society, which is organised and has a strong commitment to national values. KBPP Polri has a strategic position because it was born from a tradition of service and discipline that is inherent in the extended family of the Indonesian National Police,” said Bamsoet.

In addition, the Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party and the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) explained that KBPP Polri needs to strengthen its role as a national cadre organisation that can reach young generations. Indonesia’s demographic bonus will be a great strength if young people are directed towards productivity, innovation, and a spirit of unity.

Conversely, Bamsoet continued, without strong guidance, the digital space can become a fertile ground for the spread of intolerance, provocation, and new forms of crime. The phenomenon of increasing radical propaganda through social media targeting young people is a serious warning for all elements of the nation.

“Young people must be involved in concrete national movements. KBPP Polri must actively be present in the community through character education, digital literacy, social activities, and strengthening national insight,” said Bamsoet.

Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman/Head of the National Defence Agency of FKPPI and the Deputy Chairman of Pemuda Pancasila also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between community organisations and state institutions in maintaining social order.

According to him, experiences in various regions show that synergy between security forces and community elements can prevent social conflicts from developing into larger security disturbances. In several national security events, community organisations were also involved to maintain stability and social harmony in their respective environments.

“KBPP Polri must be an example of an organisation that prioritises dialogue, mutual assistance, and maturity in democratic life. This nation needs a social unifier that can maintain balance amidst the strong polarisation caused by political contests and global economic pressures,” Bamsoet concluded.
