Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Advisory Board, Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet), has expressed support for the upcoming Content Creator Drag event organised by Panca Garage at the TNI AU Husein Sastranegara Airbase in Bandung on 4 July. The event will involve approximately 150 content creators, two-wheeler communities, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), featuring activities such as a drag race, charity for orphans, and an MSME bazaar. Bamsoet stated that the entire programme demonstrates how the automotive world has evolved into part of a lifestyle and creative industry with tangible economic impact. “Events like the Drag Content Creator serve as a highly relevant platform to bring the digital world and automotive activities together directly. Face-to-face interaction between creators and their followers will strengthen community solidarity while creating broader collaboration opportunities for industry players and MSMEs,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (24/6/2026), during a meeting with Panca Garage founder Irwan Cipto in Jakarta. The member of the House of Representatives noted that the creative economy sector is a significant job provider for the younger generation. He added that the national automotive industry continues to grow through community activities, vehicle modification, event organising, the apparel industry, and digital content production. Bamsoet assessed that the Drag Content Creator event can strengthen this economic chain, as it not only involves various elements of the two-wheeler industry but also attracts thousands of visitors, potentially boosting local economic turnover. “Future automotive events must deliver real economic impact. The presence of MSMEs, creative industry players, content creators, and local brands is a crucial part of moving the economic wheel. This multiplier effect must be continuously strengthened,” he explained. The Deputy Chairman of the Golkar Party added that the presence of content creators and social media has transformed promotional and marketing patterns in the automotive industry. Content creators have now become key drivers in introducing innovation, vehicle modification, safe riding culture, and various aftermarket products to the wider public. According to Bamsoet, this has encouraged the emergence of various collaborations between automotive communities, industry players, sponsors, and MSMEs that were previously difficult to connect within a single ecosystem. “The development of digital technology has given automotive communities a much wider reach than before. Automotive content creators are now capable of becoming the driving force for promoting local products, tourist destinations, road safety education, while simultaneously opening up new business opportunities for the community,” he concluded.
