Bambang testifies before City Police

JAKARTA: Bambang Trihatmodjo, son of former president Soeharto, gave three hours of testimony at the City Police Headquarters on Jl. Jend. Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, accompanied by his lawyer, Juan Felix Tampubolon.

Bambang declined to speak to reporters about his testimony on the corruption case involving the Ministry of Cooperation's cooperative, along with two main suspects, Bustanil Arifin and Subijakto Tjakrawardaja.

He testified about the 4,003-square-meter land tract on Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, bought by the cooperative in 1990.

City Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bahrul Alam said that the police had received a letter from the prosecution requesting an investigation of Subijakto on Tuesday.

But the letter was returned to the Attorney General's Office, as it did not urge any specific legal action be taken by the police against the suspect. -- Antara
