Bambang Pacul: LCC of MPR's Four Pillars Strengthens Nationalism Among Young Generation
Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI, Bambang Wuryanto, stated that the MPR RI’s Four Pillars Smart Competition (LCC) plays a role in safeguarding the nation’s collective memory of history as a foundation for strengthening nationalism among the young generation.
“If a nation forgets its history, we lose the meaning of nationhood. The MPR RI initiated this activity so that we always remember nationhood and statehood as a consensus,” said Bambang in a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday.
Bambang, who is also a member of Commission XII of the DPR RI, explained that this national consensus has been implemented in various laws and regulations, including an understanding of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia (UUD NRI 1945), which has been amended four times.
The 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars LCC at the Central Java provincial level was officially opened, participated in by nine schools: SMAN 1 Randublatung, SMAN 1 Pati, MAN 2 Wonosobo, SMAN 1 Purbalingga, SMAN 2 Cilacap, SMAN 1 Klaten, SMAN 7 Semarang, SMA Regina Pacis Surakarta, and SMAN 1 Bumiayu.
The man familiarly known as Bambang Pacul also hopes that the MPR RI Four Pillars LCC will continue to serve as a reminder and strengthener of nationalism for the new generation.
At the opening, Bambang posed a question to all participants in a rapid-fire manner, namely to clearly state the fourth paragraph of the preamble to the 1945 UUD NRI.
That question was immediately answered enthusiastically by a participant representing SMA Negeri 1 Pati.
“So when reading articles like that, it’s best to do it in a calmer and slower tone, so it sinks deeper into the heart. Okay? Understand? Thank you,” said Bambang in response to the participant’s answer.
“The MPR RI’s Four Pillars are the main foundation of the nation. Make this competition an opportunity to delve into and practise the values of nationhood,” he said.
He hopes the event will produce a young generation that understands rights and obligations as citizens, loves the homeland, and maintains unity amid diversity.
Sadimin also encouraged the competition to proceed honestly, sportingly, and with full joy. Guiding teachers and parents can serve as role models in practising the MPR RI’s Four Pillars in daily life.
“Show that Central Java’s young generation excels in knowledge, is strong in character, and steadfast in national spirit,” he added.
The event was also attended by Deputy Speaker of the MPR RI Lestari Moerdijat, MPR RI members Fadholi and Mohamad Toha, Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI Siti Fauziah and her staff, Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau Triyatni, Deputy for Administration of the MPR RI, and Head of the General Bureau Herry Putra, Deputy for Administration of the MPR RI.
