Baltic States Warned Against Providing Territory for Attacks on Russia

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has warned that the Baltic states are ‘playing with fire’ by providing their territory for attacks on Russia. Speaking to the RIA Novosti news agency on Tuesday, Galuzin stated that by submitting to NATO and EU discipline and allowing their territory to be used for hostile actions against Russia in the context of the Ukraine conflict, the Baltic nations are fully aware of the risks they are taking. A day earlier, Galuzin cautioned that Latvia’s NATO membership would not exempt it from the consequences of its involvement in attacks on Russian territory. Last week, the deputy minister said Russia had verified information that Latvia and other Baltic states had been providing their airspace as a transit corridor for Ukrainian drones conducting strikes on targets within Russia. The Baltic states have consistently denied the accusations levelled by Moscow.
