Balloon festival at Mal Ciputra

JAKARTA (JP): Mal Ciputra is holding a seminar, festival and
competition on balloons at the mall's center atrium from Sept. 1
to Sept. 14.

The events, jointly organized with balloon maker PT Jossa
Cipta Kreasi Indah, began with a three-day seminar, and include a
series of competitions on balloon decorations, Halida Hajadi,
from the mall, said yesterday.

According to Halida, participants are balloon decoration
creators from Singapore and Indonesia's major cities of Jakarta,
Surabaya, Bandung, Malang, Semarang, Solo and Yogyakarta.

"The seminar instructors were from the United States, Britain
and Australia," she said.

The contestants are required to create the most attractive
balloon arrangements for theme parties, such as a birthday,
Mother's Day, Idul Fitri and Independence Day.

A special show for children, presenting the country's famous
puppet Si Komo, will be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 7, and
next Saturday, Sept. 13.

A number of games, including balloon decorating, have been
arranged for today and next Sunday for children visiting the
mall, which is located on Jl. Daan Mogot, West Jakarta. (bsr)
